- Emigrated on the liner Lucania, 30 April, 1898 at the age of 20 to Aspen, Colorado, USA. He became a US Citizen in 1904. John initially worked for the Colorado Prison Service, and by 1910 the family had moved to Round Mountain, Nye, Nevada. There he worked as a gold miner, and per the 1910 Census they owned their own home - free of mortgage. In the 1920's the family moved to Los Angeles, where they also bought their own home. In 1930 they were living at 299 East 47st. Los Angeles. John had a construction company in LA, and among his customers was the LA Telephone Co. John D. lived to be 88 years of age, and his son John R. lived to be 89.
